June 24, 2008 Belinda Stronach to Speak at St. Peter’s College, Muenster The Honourable Belinda Stronach will be the Keynote Speaker at the St. Peter’s College Key to Success Gala and Awards Ceremony in Muenster, Saskatchewan on September 16, 2008. St. Peter’s College Director of Development Lisa Laskowski made the announcement at the Humboldt City Council meeting on Monday. “We are pleased that Belinda Stronach will join our alumni and Gala Co-Chairs the Honourable Rod A.A. Zimmer, Senator, and J. Wayne Zimmer at the Key to Success Gala and Awards Ceremony,” said Laskowski. “Their involvement demonstrates their commitment to and support of university education in rural Saskatchewan and the future direction of St. Peter's College to meet the province’s training needs.” Ms. Stronach, Member of Parliament for Newmarket-Aurora, member of the Privy Council, Executive Vice-Chairman of Magna International Inc. and Co-Founder of Spread the Net is internationally known. In 2002, she was ranked #2 by Fortune Magazine in its list of the world’s most powerful women in business. In 2004, TIME Magazine ranked Ms. Stronach as one of the world’s 100 most influential people, and in 2005, the World Economic Forum named her a member of its network of Young Global Leaders. The Key to Success Gala is being held to celebrate the success of St. Peter’s College and its students. Announcements concerning academic programming and significant investments will also be made that evening. St. Peter’s College is the only Benedictine Liberal Arts and Science College in the country. The College, affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan since 1926, offers more than 50 face-to-face university classes in Arts and Science, pre-Health Sciences, pre-Law, Agriculture and Business. Also offered is specialized programming such as the Business Administration Certificate from the Edwards School of Business, the St. Peter’s College Writing Diploma and a Sustainability Course. The Key To Success Gala and Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at St. Peter’s College in Muenster, SK.
