Advising

What prerequisites must you complete before taking a course? In what order should you take certain courses? What courses will you need to graduate from your program? What courses will prepare you for graduate-level studies?

Academic advising plays an important role in answering these and other questions related to your course of studies. Connecting with an advisor early in your university experience can be a major factor in your success. Staying in contact can help avoid serious difficulties later. So what is it exactly?

Choosing Classes? We can Help!
Academic advising is the process of developing an educational plan that fits your abilities, interests, personal circumstances and career goals. You can do this by meeting with an academic advisor from your college or department as early as possible during your studies. You do not need to wait for registration information before you meet with an academic advisor.

St. Peter's College offers unique and personal academic advising to all students enrolled at the College. As a student, you are responsible for ensuring that you take advantage of this advising opportunity. If you have questions, concerns or comments about your academic career or something occurring at the College you can consult with the friendly advising staff.

Make sure to talk to student services if you would like an advising appointment.  Also, if you have a concern and approach studnet services as early as possible so the issue can be resolved.
