Szumigalski Collection

This unique collection of books belonged to the late Saskatchewan poet Anne Szumigalski.

Donated to St. Peter's College by the Saskatchewan Writers Guild, the 1300 volumes are housed in a separate section of the library. The collection includes many first editions, autographed copies and chapbooks by Saskatchewan authors as well as volumes by numerous Canadian authors.

The Szumigalski Collection is fully catalogued and is accessible through our on-line catalogue. The collection is non-circulating, but patrons are welcome to use the volumes on site.

Anne Szumigalski was born in London, England, in 1922 and passed away in 1999. She immigrated to Canada in 1951 and lived in Saskatoon. Szumigalski was the author of more than ten collections of poetry and won the 1995 Governor General's Award for poetry for Voice.
