2009 Scholarships and Awards Ceremony
NUMEROUS SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS PRESENTED AT
ST. PETER'S COLLEGE
A substantial number of scholarships and awards were presented at the Annual St. Peter's College Awards Ceremony held at St. Peter's College on November 15th.
Guest speaker for the event was Glen Kobussen, special advisor to the St. Peter's College board of governors, management consultant and Edwards School of Business professor. Kobussen spoke on the topic "Leadership in the 21st Century and Beyond."
This year, $36,000 of scholarships and awards were presented to St. Peter's College students for their leadership, positive role modeling and academic achievements. Students receiving external awards from the University of Saskatchewan and the CBC's Youth Write for Radio Competition also were recognized at the event bringing the total value of awards received by St. Peter's College students to more than $77,000.
"Our scholarships and awards ceremony would not be possible without the generosity of many people and organizations," said Rob Harasymchuk, president of St. Peter's College.
"Thank you to all of the businesses, organizations and individuals who have given to St. Peter's College Scholarships and Awards," said Harasymchuk. "These investments in education help to encourage our students and recognize them for their leadership, volunteer and academic achievements." Harasymchuk added, "Congratulations to all of our students who have received awards today."
Two students, Christy Waldner of Muenster and Jolissa Simon of Yellow Creek were presented with the St. Peter's College Writing Diploma.
St. Peter's College is affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan. Many students attend St. Peter's College to take their first and second year of Arts and Science, their first year of Business/Commerce, Agriculture or Kinesiology or to fulfill the entry requirements to colleges such as Medicine, Law, Nutrition, Pharmacy and Education. The College is located in Muenster, Saskatchewan.
