YOU can participate in this year's Idea Challenge!
I3 Idea Challenge is back for another year and is ready to fuel student's innovative ideas! Last year, the W. Brett Wilson Centre for Entrepreneurial Excellence gave away over $145,000 in cash and prizes for the I3 Idea Challenge - making it one of the largest business plan competitions in North America! I3 Idea Challenge is a 9 month all-inclusive program outside normal classroom time to teach (through workshops/seminars, presentations, mentors and events) the importance and discipline of innovative thinking (the essence of entrepreneurship) and how wealth is created. The competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate studies students at the University of Saskatchewan and St. Peter's College.
I3 Idea Challenge has been set-up to provide an opportunity for students to learn in a collaborative, supportive and competitive environment. The competition simulates real life where there is a competition for ideas and money while requiring the formation of key strategic partnerships, team building, knowledge building and sharing.
Idea Feedback: allows participants to explore and receive feedback on their ideas. This helps you learn the importance of idea generation and opportunity identification. This critical advisory phase teaches the discipline of idea generation and screening good ideas from just ideas. Ideas are not ranked or relatively judged at this phase. You will learn techniques, discipline and essentials of why do some ideas, even though not as revolutionary or groundbreaking succeed while others fall by the wayside.
Business Plan Writing: is the first competitive phase of the competition. Teams (or individuals) will submit business plans of their business concept. A weekend workshop will be held to teach the basics of business and give I3 Idea Challenge participants the tools they need to succeed. If you are enrolled in entrepreneurial classes/majors, you may have the added benefit of working on your summary as part of your course work.
