St. Peter's College History Prof Completes Doctorate
Congratulations go out to Dr. Jason Zorbas on recently completing his doctorate. Jason describes his accomplishment below:
I recently completed a doctorate in philosophy in history (yes that is the official title). When I began the program, I had just moved to Saskatchewan, was a bachelor, and fully intended on returning home to Ontario within two years. At the end of the program, I can look back at a path that little resembles the original plan, but that I wouldn't change for anything. During the years that I struggled with the PhD, I met and married my wife and we started a family. I also found my calling in life, teaching, and now have the opportunity to make a living at it. The PhD did not just bring me out to Saskatoon and St. Peter's College, but allowed me to do research in both Ottawa and Vancouver, present papers at conferences in Halifax, Winnipeg and Calgary and provided the material for my first published works. It was a long, hard process, but one that I'm thankful I undertook. Perhaps, however, not as thankful as I am that it's complete!
