TD Canadian Children's Book Week
Canada's largest celebration of Canadian children's and teen books and their creators is the TD Canadian Children's Book Week. The next Book Week tour will run from April 30 - May 7, 2011. Thirty English-speaking authors, illustrators and storytellers will be visiting schools, libraries, bookstores and community centres in every province and territory across the country. Over 35,000 children, teens and adults will take part in the readings and workshops that will be given by the Book Week touring authors, illustrators and storytellers.
TD Canadian Children's Book Week 2011 celebrates global citizenship. The official theme is Changing the World, One Child at a Time and will focus on books that highlight children and teens who are doing things to make the world a better place in their community, country, or abroad. The theme will also encompass environmental issues, world conflict and world events.
