Students Begin University Year at St. Peter's College
St. Peter's College staff and faculty welcomed students to the new university year. Students and parents attended the Student Orientation Day held at the Muenster campus on Wednesday.
Orientation Day was organized to assist students with the transition to university. The day also provided students and parents an opportunity to attend information sessions on academics and college life, tour the College, purchase textbooks and meet fellow students.
The College has attracted students from around the province, other provinces and out of the country. "We have seen a significant increase in enrolment this year." said Rob Harasymchuk, College president. "The College has a lot to offer. "The increase in students is largely due to our excellent core programming, student supports, numerous opportunities as well as the addition of several new programs to our course offerings."
Recent additions to the current programs offered at St. Peter's College include the first year of the Commerce degree, the first year of the Kinesiology degree and the Edwards School of Business Business Administration Certificate. Students also attend St. Peter's College to begin their degree in Arts and Science or Agriculture to fulfill the entry requirements to colleges such as Medicine, Law, Nutrition, Pharmacy and Education.
"Students and parents see St. Peter's as a positive choice for a number of factors," said Val Koroluk, Special Projects Manager. "We offer them an excellent choice of programs, exceptional instruction, lower tuition and cost of living and smaller class size," said Koroluk, "This, combined with an exciting student life and friendly supportive environment makes the transition from high school to university easier."
Classes began on Thursday.
