November 23 2011, St. Peter’s had its first ever coffee house. The coffee house broadcasted several talents such as Dylan Wolff playing his soulful guitar, Ty Hoesgen and Chris Wood playing their classical and contemporary piano and the music club singing out their souls. The coffee house was hosted by the St. Peters student government. During the coffee house we sold coffee, hot chocolate and cookies for the public to enjoy while they watched the terrific performers. All in all, it was a success and several people said that they would love another one.

St. Peters, yet again, this year has participated in Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is supported by Samaritans Purse. Samaritans Purse is a branch of the evangelical Christian organization that has been providing spiritual and physical need to those who need it across the world. Operation Christmas Child is a charity project that anyone can do. What you do is get a shoebox that Samaritans Purse sends to you, and then fill it with provisions such as toothbrushes, pencils, and toys. These go off to children around the world so that they will have a gift to open on Christmas day. The student government spent their afternoon filling fifty boxes to send off to the children around the world who need it.

We just hit December and creeping around the corner is Christmas! People in Muenster and Humboldt have already put up their Christmas decorations. In spirit of Christmas, Ava Menezes, Jillian Ramsay and Dayna Brons decorated the student lounge with a Christmas tree and decorations. Along with changes to the student lounge, we added a piano and moved the furniture around. Now the ambiance of the new lounge is learning.

Finals are around the corner. It is the last week of classes and stress is floating in the air. Remember to study hard, buckle down and get that much needed sleep. If you can do this you will reap the benefits of your hard work and Christmas break will be like heaven in the end.
